Most interesting. Perhaps it'd be easier for me to reply in English. You are in the UK, i presumed then. Just out of curiosity, where are you in the uk? and which CofE parish you attend?
I was a chorister with the Ely Anglican Cathedral many years ago. You just rasied a pretty good question here. Shall we strick to the long tradition of the church to exclude female singing? only Tenor, Bass and trebles? Personally, i'm in favour of the later but by the teaching of the Vatican II and direction of the Congregation of Divine Worship, female voice is allowed given: they are not positioned in the sanctuary.
Modern Catholic, craddle or converted, have long confused the term "choir" used in Church's document. There's a Huge difference between the "Schola Cantorum" and "Liturgical Choir". "Schola Cantorum" should composed of ALL male and sit facing each other on both south and north of the sanctuary, which traditionally this location is called "choir" or "choirstall" and memebers are required to wear choir-dress as a cleric (cassock + cotta). Meanwhile "Liturgical choir" could be made up of mixed or just even female voice, but as mentioned above, they have to be positioned outside the sanctuary, traditionally at the Choir Loft / gallery at the west end of the church and above the maindoor.
记谱法采用古谱表还是五线谱?
Since we will use the Roman Graduale or the Liber Usualis, so members will be taught to read and sing in 古谱(4线谱). Modern 五线谱 will be used for Polyphony (music by de Victoria, Palestrina, Byrd, Tallis alike)
